History
I grew up in New York and moved around quite a bit before settling in Western North Carolina 10 years ago. As a lifelong asthmatic, moving to this area proved to be very trying on my lungs due to the severity of my asthma attacks during the Autumn season. I questioned whether or not I could live here, but I loved it here so much that I was determined to find a cure. Eventually, I found the correct blend of Chinese herbs, breathwork exercises and stretches that empowered me to pull myself out of an asthma attack without the use of my inhalers (though I still keep them on hand).
Education
I received my bodywork training at the Hudson Valley School of Massage Therapy in 2010 and graduated from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a double master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in 2014. After moving to Asheville, I continued my post graduate education with the Association for Traditional Studies, completing a 500+ hour internship with hands-on clinical and herbal training in orthopedic acupuncture and internal medicine.
Experience
Over the past decade, I’ve treated patients with a variety of conditions ranging from pain to autoimmune disease, to digestive health, to mental health, to acute injury, to febrile disease and more. In 2020, I participated in the Acupuncture Relief Project as a primary care provider in the village of Bajarabarahi, Nepal where I had to get creative to treat conditions without a lot of the modern medical advancements and comforts that we’re used to having today. Returning to the states with a new zest for life, the subsequent five years led me to delve deeper into the nervous system as it seemed to me that nervous system regulation was a common, underlying link amongst most dis-ease with patients I had treated over the years (myself included). This led to me developing treatments designed to target the nervous system, alongside the chief complaint, for a more comprehensive treatment plan that not only enhances results but empowers my patients to be instrumental in their own healing journeys.
Outside of the office
In my downtime, I like to tinker around with various woodworking/carpentry projects and spend time out in nature and in the community with my dog, Gianni.
